I play field hockey as a full back and so tend to get a few injuries from fast travelling balls.
A couple of weeks ago I collected a ball in inside of my foot, just forward of my ankle bone and directly above my instep. It was extremely sore with swelling so went to A&E the next day for a x-ray. There was no break. So it'll just be a case of taking it easy and waiting for it to get better, but it is taking a while and I'm sure that day-to-day walking isn't great for it. It tends to hurt a bit more when I walk properly with my arch high.
I understand that there are a lot of ligaments and so on in the area and I'm worried that its going to turn really chronic if I dont take care of it.
Would it speed things up to get it taped by a physio for support? What about a stretchy ankle/foot support? Any other ideas?
