Side of upper foot pain following plantar faciitis

Question: Side of upper foot pain following plantar faciitis

After having plantar faciitis for a couple of months, I started making progress in treating it, BUT am experiencing a lot of pain on the upper outside portion of the foot where it connects to the ankle. Just in front of the ankle joint. Without realizing it, I had been walking slightly on the outside edge of my foot. When I try to walk normally, ie, with my foot landing more flatly, the pain in the described area is intense and it burns and hurts all the time, more so of course as the day goes on. After running, the problem is intensified. Help!!!
