Pain in my right foot around my 2nd metatarsal.

Question: Pain in my right foot around my 2nd metatarsal.

Hi

I was playing football (soccer) last month and as I went in for a takle the other player left his foot in, so I kicked his studs on the bottom of his boot with the top of my foot (where the laces are). My foot was badly bruised and swollen, I could still curl my toes in so I knew it was not broken.
After a week of putting ice on it the swelling went and a month later I played a game of football and my foot was still hurting when I kicked the ball around.
I looked over my foot and I could feel a lump (about the size of half a pea) inbetween the 1st and 2nd metatarsal. Which when I applied pressure to it started to hurt. The muscles on the top of my foot felt sore after aswell.

Does anyone know what this lump is? and the best treatment methods??

thanks for your help!

Colin
