I have an overuse injury on the lateral side of my kneecap (not meniscus and not ITBS). It shows up after running about 8-10 miles. It appears suddenly then becomes extremely painful to walk up or down hills. I've rested it for 6 weeks and it did not get better. Should I continue to rest it or continue to try and strengthen it? I'm worried about continued strength training on an already overused knee.
