MCL rehab exercises

Question: MCL rehab exercises

Have a light sprain to MCL but little improvement despite ultrasound, laser, frictions etc for 7 weeks.

I understand range of motion exercises etc may facilitate healing...Could someone please give me some advice on these and the best ones to do?

Thankyou!

Martin

Answer:

P.Watson Bilateral calf raises progrssing to unilateral. Resistance bands in to abdctn and hip flexn with banding in standing. Hip adduction with band (pain free). Shallow squats with progression to unilateral lunges as an intermediate progression. Resistance band (prone lying) knee flexn & extn (sat on a chair or plinth) That should do for a while.

Answer:

Cold therapy is always important, especially if you are still relatively active. The healing process will take forever if the inflammation isn't brought down (inflammation isn't always visible).
