Hamstring Avulsion

Question: Hamstring Avulsion

My MRI indicated that I have torn away my tendons from my pelvis. Is this something that will require surgery or will it get better with rest?
Also is there a time limit on when this operation should take place? Thanks...

Answer:

Hi there

I am an Australian Kinesiologist/sports therapist.

I would love to help but you have to be a bit more specific in regards to location. There are heaps of tendons and ligaments in the pelvis.
Which area is affected, and can you walk? Are you in Bed with this?
In the meantime, Take vitamin C supplements, at least 3000 to 4000 mg daily. (see: 'vitamin C and connective tissue' on the web) This will initiate healing by bringing oxygen to the injured area.

Love to hear from you again with more details
