Chronic hamstring problems

Question: Chronic hamstring problems

from I believe overstretching in yoga. I didn't feel any tear or pull, it was just a soreness initially that seemed to be aggravated first at yoga and now hiking. I have laid off completely with the yoga, but it still seems aggravated by light hiking. Do I do absolutely nothing? I am scheduled for a physical therapy appt. but in the meantime am schedule to go skiing for four days and am quite nervous about this...I'm not conditioned obviously and the last thing I want is to force it even more so that I truly tear it...what are your recs???

I am a Kinesiologist/sports therapist in Australia
As you did not specify right or left sides I have assume it is bilateral.
Hamstring muscles, Biceps femoris and Semitendinosis, are controlled by nerves exiting at L4-5 level. This could indicate a spinal misalignment at that level. Energywise they relate to large intestine, and are often indicative of allergies, in particular dairy allergies. The production of lactase, necessary for the digestion of lactose in milk is, in infancy, produced by the large intestine. Once weaned it ceases, leaving us adults with lactose intolerance, which leads to alleries.
This is a sure sign we need to stop suckling from the cow and avoid dairy and all its byproducts. We have grown up!
Don't believe anybody that proclaims to "cure" allergies to dairy.
We can not start the production of lactase again once weaned.
Massage the 2 bony protuberances on the back of the hips and the spaces between these protuberances and the spine at L4-5 level. this will strenghten the hamstrings.

I had billateral meniscal surgury several years ago. I still cannot bend either leg more than 120 degrees. Is rehab hopeless, if not, what can I do to get my strenght and flexibility back?

I am an Australian Kinesiologist/sports therapist.

Most, if not all knee problems start with a muscular problem. Operations often work on the symptoms rather than the cause. This is what medicine has become. A pill for every ill. After pill number five, the knife.
The rectus femoris is the main muscle that holds the capella in place. If that muscle malfunctions it tends to tighten up which pulls the capella out of its proper alignment. There are two approaches to this problem. Create a new alignment, which means an operation and remove, or partly remove the meniscus which the good Lord, with infinite wisdom, placed there for a purpose, or strenghten the muscle and get it to function normal again. You have chosen the first option, now try to get the muscle to work again. Massage the quads from center to insert and origin. Do this about 8 times a day for 40 seconds at a time. Massage under the ribcage from sternum to side. This may be painful!
Massage a point ON the spine at T 12, a spinal segment that controls the function of the rectus femoris. You can do that yourself, with your knuckles by making a fist and go back and up about as far as you can go.
Watch your diet! The quads work on the same energy as your small intestine. Allergies can and will affect these muscles. The most allergenic foods are; Dairy. Avoid altogether. peanuts, eggs, potatoes, food colouring, MSG. These are items that the FDA, in its infinite wisdom(?) has passed as appropriate for human consumption. They are not.

Stick to this.
