Question: Can this please be directed to Sean Fyfe in reference to his article on Sally. Can you pls provide me some advice and guidelines on how to resolve the same issue including treatment, stretches & any exercises to avoid.

I think you have almost described the issue word for word and involving all the same muscle groups I have been having intermittently over 3 years but now constantly for the last 3 months. Did Sally wake with the most severe stiffness & pain? My back seems to be worse in the morning (regularly waking me up) and then as it warms up during the day I can't feel it any more unless somebody applies pressure to the muscles. I have been exercising quite regularly and hard for several years - doing a lot of boxing, free weights, running, sit ups and push ups. I also have an 11 month old baby who weighs about 10kgs so combined with carrying him around and the effect of pregnancy on my lower abdominals is exacerbating the problem. I have been tested by the Dr for a whole heap of nasties such as renal problems, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis all of which came back negative thank god. I'm seeing a chiropractor at the moment who seems to be getting to the bottom of this issue ie. I've had some pain free nights/mornings but progress is slow. He's already figured out that it is related to my hip flexor and the muscles at the top of my butt. I have already pointed out all the spinal muscles to him (eg. quadratus lomborum - sorry about spelling) because that's where I feel the pain. The problem seems to be that the treatment works and I get some benefit but it just won't go away. I'd love to have a good nights sleep again so any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated. I have seen several other specialists as well and had some acupuncture performed by a physio but it really made no difference at all.

Thanks
